Admissions Process
Our admissions process for new students begins in January each year. Families interested in enrolling their child for the 2025–2026 school year are encouraged to attend our Annual Open House, scheduled for Saturday, January 31st, 2026, to learn more about our school and programs.
While the Open House for the 2024–2025 school year has passed, we are still accepting inquiries for limited remaining spaces. If you are interested in registering your child, please contact the school office to inquire about availability.
Admissions Process (March 2025 - August 2025)
Contact Cornerstone School directly to inquire about space availability in your child’s grade.
Should there be an available space in your desired grade, we will arrange a telephone consultation to discuss whether Cornerstone is the right fit for your child.
If appropriate, you and your child may be invited for an individual assessment and school tour.
During the visit, your child will spend time with a teacher or administrator for a brief assessment. Parents will also have the opportunity to ask questions and speak with a school administrator.
Following the tour and assessment, you may receive an offer of admission (pending space availability).
To secure your child’s spot, complete and return the application package along with the required deposit.
Admissions Process (March 2025 - August 2025)
Attend our Annual Open House on Saturday, January 31st, 2026.
During the Open House, families may register their child for a group assessment session, scheduled for Saturday, February 21st, 2026.
After the assessment session, families will be contacted by email with an offer of admission, pending space availability.
To secure your child’s spot, complete and return the application package along with the required deposit.
Final decisions regarding enrolment for the 2026–2027 school year will be made on Friday, February 27th, 2026. All families who applied will be contacted by the Head of Admissions.
Assessments:
Assessments are conducted either individually (for late applications) or in small groups (during our February intake). These sessions are led by experienced teachers and administrators who observe how children engage with classroom materials and interact in a Montessori environment.
For younger students, there are no formal tests or written evaluations. The focus is on readiness, developmental fit, and classroom engagement. For students entering Grades 1–7, the assessment will also include basic evaluations in Language Arts and Mathematics to help determine academic readiness and placement.
During the assessment visit, parents will have an opportunity to meet with an administrator and ask any questions about the school and its programs.
